U.S. Census Bureau data shows that Berks County’s population of residents 65 and older is growing at a rate of over 13% percent. Luann Oatman, president of Berks Encore, said it is part of a trend that she expects will continue.
“What I see is that there will be an increase in the demand for services,” and it is no wonder why.
Famously called “Pennsylvania’s Americana Region,” Berks County is absolutely full of engaging and unique experiences for seniors to explore and take advantage of.
- Hawk Mountain Sanctuary, In Kempton, the 2,600-acre ADA-accessible park was the world’s first refuge for raptors.
- GoggleWorks Center for the Arts, where one can watch more than 30 artists, woodworkers, ceramists, glass blowers, and jewelry artisans in action in their studios, or watch a film in the 130-seat movie theater.
